Boutari Wineries is awarded with the most important, international distinctions in company history.27/2/2009

The vision of Konstantinos Boutari in seeing the Boutari Company amongst the best wineries in the world, is slowly materializing. The Boutari Company was recently awarded with two significant international distinctions of the wine sector by renowned American wine magazines “Wine & Spirits” and “Wine Enthusiast”.

According to the former, the Boutari Company has been awarded for the 12th year the great distinction “International Winery of the Year” and is ranked for the 1st time as one of the 8 best wineries in the world, thereby surpassing last year’s position amongst the top 10 wineries. This distinction was given, based on the exceptional quality and uniqueness of the company’s wines. The wines that appraised such excellent reviews and high scores were: Filiria Boutari 2005 (93/100), Kallisti Reserve Boutari 2006 (90/100) and Ode Boutari 2003 (90/100).

Simultaneously, the magazine “Wine Enthusiast”, in view of the awards: “2008 Wine Star Awards”, awarded the Boutari Company and for the first time ever to a Greek winery, the title “European Winery of the Year”, the only European winery to win this award, amongst five European Winery nominations.

Mr. Konstantinos Boutari stated: “These international distinctions are surely a recognition of the great and difficult task we have been undergoing as a company for the past 130 years and undisputedly makes us all proud, by giving us, at the same time, even greater motivation for harder work and persistence in our mission. Though, above all, these distinctions set our expectations even higher, with our foremost goal being the promotion and recognition of Greek wine internationally.”
